Cave Entrance

Right here at the Cave Entrance, there is a small folded paper in a small hole in the wall. You almost miss it as you start in - but now it is in your hand. As you open it out, you see there are several sheets folded together. It is the Introduction to "Happiness Revisited," the first chapter to Mihalyi Csikzentmihalyi's book Flow (New York: Harper Perennial Modern Classics, 2008). Just 5 rather small pages, and you decide you will read it before you go any further. (Csik_p1-5.pdf)

After all, might as well write it up. You see the note with it that it is worth up to 5 XPs when a well written account is posted to the Pilgrimage Topic (subject: "Flow Introduction") on your Adventurer's Log Discussion Tab.

Now, one can go several directions from the entrance:
Straignt ahead to see Stalagtites,
Off to the right to see some Stalagmites,
Turn left and squeeze through a narrow space to enter the Side Room
Or, one might choose to go back out of the cave to Dogwood Lane
As you come out of the cave, you are thinking seriously about Flow. Obviously, "flow" is pretty important in the study of game-based learning. And, equally clear, you know you must figure out what Csikzentmihalyi is saying about flow. How many of his writings will you need to piece it all together? Well, that will give you something to write about in your Journal this week for sure!
